A California couple mysteriously disappeared last weekend at a nudist resort outside of Los Angeles, with their neighbor now facing charges of killing them. The City of Redlands spokesperson revealed that cadaver dogs are searching for the remains of Stephanie and Daniel Menard at the Olive Dell Ranch in Colton following the arrest of 62-year-old Michael Sparks.
Authorities expressed confidence that the couple is deceased and believed their bodies are on the property, possibly near Sparks' home. Sparks was apprehended after being found hiding beneath his residence, prompting a thorough search of the area.
The Menards were reported missing by a friend after they were last seen at their home on Saturday at the resort. Their unlocked vehicle was discovered nearby, along with Stephanie Menard's purse and their cell phones. Additionally, their small white Shih Tzu named Cuddles is also missing.
Concerned friends of the couple, like Tammie Wilkerson, emphasized that Stephanie and Dan would not have left their belongings behind, casting doubt on the possibility of them voluntarily disappearing. The motive behind the alleged killings remains unclear as investigators continue their work.
Olive Dell Ranch, where the couple resided, is described as a popular nudist resort for families and couples in Southern California. The resort offers a nudist/naturist lifestyle experience for day visitors and overnight guests, attracting individuals seeking a clothing-optional environment.
