Days before thousands of medical aspirants are scheduled to appear for the NEET-UG re-examination on June 21, three students from Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Uttarakhand have allegedly died by suicide, with families and officials pointing towards the intense pressure surrounding the medical entrance exam. The incidents have renewed concerns about the mental stress faced by students preparing for highly competitive examinations.
The deaths come after the controversy surrounding the NEET exam, including allegations of irregularities, led to the cancellation of the earlier test and announcement of a re-examination.
