India's Neeraj Chopra, who secured a silver medal in the men's javelin throw at Paris Olympics 2024, may undergo surgery to address his groin injury soon. The ace javelin thrower is reportedly in Germany for a month or so to seek medical advice for potential surgery and to make a decision on his participation in upcoming Diamond League meetings, as per media reports.
The athlete said 70-80% of his focus was on his injury during his throws at Olympics as he didn't want to aggravate it. "Before the last world championships, the doctor had advised me to go for surgery. But I didn't have the time. I couldn't do it before Olympics either. But (now) I will have to make a big decision," he said, indicating that he would go for surgery soon.
