Sunderland target Nectarios Triantis kept his cards close to his chest when asked about his future in Australia. The 20-year-old impressed in the heart of defence as Central Coast Mariners ran out 6-1 winners over Melbourne City.
Triantis played 85 minutes before being replaced to sign off in style ahead of a reported £300,000 move to the Stadium of Light. The central defender is said to have agreed terms with the Black Cats ahead of signing a long-term deal.
However, the defender was asked about his future in the immediate aftermath of the win, and said: "You never know (what is going to happen). I’ve got two years left on my contract. I love this club, and I’ll always give everything for this club.”

Triantis made 25 appearances for the Mariners in the Australian top flight as they finished the campaign as cup winners. The young defender has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign having signed for the Coasties from Western Sydney Wanderers.
Sunderland have also been linked with Birmingham City youngster Jobe Bellingham, who is set to sign for the Wearsiders for a reported fee of £3million after impressing in his breakthrough season in the Championship.
