There’s plenty of room on the hype train for Colorado football and Deion Sanders is welcoming any and all new fans. Ahead of the team’s second game of the season against Nebraska, it appears Huskers coach Matt Rhule isn’t interested in downplaying the talent the Buffaloes have this season. Instead, he’s openly discussing it.
After Colorado’s shocking 45–42 victory over TCU on the road, Rhule discussed Nebraska’s upcoming opponent, going as far as admitting that “Coach Prime’s” team could be ranked in the Top 10 after their debut win, at least in his mind.
“I have a lot of respect for the team that we’re playing. I had a chance to watch them on Saturday. Obviously playing a ranked team—they’ll be a ranked team this week, and maybe even a Top 10 team, and that’s well-deserved. Excited to see our guys match that environment, handle that environment, and excited for the week,” Rhule said.

It would be a drastic jump for Colorado to move into the Top 10 after being unranked. While that’s almost certainly not the likely outcome, it’s worth noting that it wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprising to see the team land inside the Top 25 after the opening-week victory.
