It proved to be another mixed week for Tottenham's nine loanees as domestic football returned following the first international break of the 2022/23 season. With the majority of Spurs' players getting some pitch time, three unfortunately went without due to injury.
So how exactly did the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Dane Scarlett and Destiny Udogie get on last weekend? football.london takes a look.
Destiny Udogie (Udinese)
Tottenham fans are certainly looking forward to seeing Udogie in action for Spurs next season after earning rave reviews for Udinese in Italy. Starting off the campaign with goals in the wins over Monza and Roma, Udogie helped his team to another win on Monday evening following late a 2-1 victory away at Hellas Verona.

The triumph means Udinese have now won six games on the trot, thus seeing them move to within one point of Napoli and Atalanta at the top of Serie A in the process. Making such an impression so far in 2022/23, Udinese have the opportunity to really make people stand up and take notice on Sunday when they host Atalanta at Stadio Friuli.
Speaking to Italian publication La Repubblica, Udogie discussed his time in Serie A and his return to Tottenham next summer. He did claim, however, that he has yet to hear from Spurs boss Antonio Conte.
"Serie A helps me to grow. The months I remain here on loan in Udine will be important to improve myself further," he said, as reported by Inside Futbol. "With my head now I'm here. To say, I haven't heard from [Antonio] Conte yet.
"The Premier [League] however does not scare me. The game is fantastic and I have always spoken English at home with my parents born in Nigeria."
Joe Rodon (Rennes)
Rodon's excellent start to his Rennes loan spell continued on Saturday as the French side claimed a 3-1 win away at Strasbourg. The centre-back, fresh from playing twice for Wales in the international break, once again played the full 90 minutes for Les Rennais to help them close in on the top five in Ligue 1.
Rodon and his teammates will be back in action on Thursday when they host Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League. Rennes currently top Group B following one win and one draw from their first two games.
Troy Parrott (Preston North End)
It proved to be another frustrating afternoon for Preston in front of goal last Saturday as they left Sunderland with a point following a goalless draw. Having started in all ten of Preston's league games so far this term, Parrott dropped down to the bench and was brought on for the final 23 minutes.
The Republic of Ireland international was given a rating of five for his performance by LancashireLive. They wrote: "Came on and linked play up but couldn't provide the goal PNE were searching for."
With Preston only netting three goals in the league all season and Parrott's only strike coming in the Carabao Cup at the start of August, manager Ryan Lowe spoke about the young striker when facing the media last Thursday. The 44-year-old is confident goals will come for the Tottenham player, with one key change to his game potentially helping him.
"With Troy, I'll keeping speaking to him and we'll have a conversation today regarding a couple of things," said Lowe, as reported by LancashireLive. "I feel that sometimes, he does a lot of work for other team mates really. I watched him the other night for Ireland and he did a lot of that for other players. If he limits that, he can create more for himself.
"Troy tries to make amends for other people but ultimately, he needs to start being judged on goals because he is creating loads of chances and works ever so well on and off the ball.
"I am a big believer that he will start scoring goals, definitely, because he is getting the chances. You can go through those rough patches, where you're not scoring, but we've got to keep him in a good place.
"What I don't want is for him to be down about it and people giving him stick about it - which is the world of social media isn't it? I have got to keep him grounded, so that when that next chance comes along he takes it and I am sure he will."
Parrott and Preston will have another opportunity to find their form in front of goal on Wednesday evening when they host West Brom at Deepdale.
Dane Scarlett (Portsmouth)
Scarlett got another 90 minutes in the tank last Saturday as Portsmouth fell to a 3-2 defeat at Ipswich Town in an entertaining game at Portman Road. The young striker may not have been on the scoresheet but he won a first-half penalty for Pompey after using his pace to get beyond his marker before he was brought down in the box by Christian Walton.
Portsmouth were in action on Tuesday evening with a 5-0 win over Aston Villa U21s in the Papa Johns Trophy but Scarlett wasn't named in the squad by Danny Cowley as he made wholesale changes to give others a rare opportunity. The south coast club host Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
Tanguy Ndombele (Napoli)
Ndombele may have played a bit-part role for Napoli so far but he once again made an impact in the Champions League for the Italian club. Fresh from scoring in their 3-0 triumph at Rangers last time out, the Frenchman was introduced at the break in their incredible 6-1 win away at Ajax.
Already 3-1 to the good at half-time, Ndombele was the architect of their sixth of the evening as he took the ball down on his chest and hooked it through for Giovanni Simeone to finish off emphatically. Following his positive display from the bench, Ndombele will be hoping that a starting spot comes his way on Sunday when they travel to struggling Cremonese in the league.
Harry Winks (Sampdoria)
Winks is still to make an appearance for Sampdoria as he works his way back to full fitness. As reported by Sampdoria's official website, the midfielder worked separately from his teammates on Tuesday as they returned to training following their 3-0 loss against Monza on Sunday.
The defeat resulted in Marco Giampaolo losing his position as manager, with Winks now set to work under a new boss once an appointment has been confirmed. Sampdoria travel to Bologna on Saturday evening.
Sergio Reguilon (Atletico Madrid)
Reguilon is another player yet to make an appearance for his new club since leaving Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer deadline. Returning to Madrid as he linked up with Atletico, the left-back has been trying to get back to fitness after surgery on the groin issue he had back in April.
Not named in the Atleti squad for the Sevilla and Club Brugge games, Reguilon will be hoping to be back sooner rather than later as it won't be long until domestic football pauses for the World Cup.
Giovani Lo Celso (Villarreal)
Lo Celso continues to get regular minutes under his belt for Villarreal following his return to the Spanish side. After starting in both of Argentina's friendlies against Honduras and Jamaica during the international break, Lo Celso played 83 minutes in the Yellow Submarine's 0-0 draw away at Cadiz on Saturday.
Villarreal are in Europa Conference League action against Austria Wien on Thursday evening, although there's no guarantee the midfielder will feature in the match having not played in the group phase so far.
Alfie Whiteman (Degerfors)
Whiteman was not involved for Swedish side Degerfors at the weekend as they secured a much-needed 3-0 win over Djurgardens. Only on the pitch for eight minutes in their last fixture prior to the international break after sustaining concussion following a nasty blow early on against AIK, the young shot-stopper missed out entirely on the matchday squad.
The Spurs goalkeeper will want to return sooner rather than later with games against Sirius and IF Elfsborg on the agenda.
