The news is out. Or is it? In the last day or so, reports have been leaking that Ncuti Gatwa – the charismatic, ever-cheerful face of Doctor Who – is in fact set to quit the show.
Or perhaps he’s only thinking about it. Reports vary. The Daily Mail has said he’s been axed after pulling out of presenting the BBC’s Eurovision coverage; other publications have quoted a source seeming to back it up. “If the final nail wasn’t already in the coffin, it was well and truly hammered in after that,” they said. “Bosses were incredibly disappointed... his withdrawal was incredibly embarrassing.”
