The NCIS universe is gearing up to celebrate a major milestone with its upcoming 1,000th episode, set to air next month. The monumental event will feature a crossover with some fan-favorite characters from the franchise.
Daniela Ruah, known for her role as Special Agent Kensi Blye-Deeks on NCIS: Los Angeles, will make an appearance in the episode scheduled for Monday, April 15. Vanessa Lachey, who portrays Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant on NCIS: Hawai’i, will also be part of the crossover event, although neither actress will appear in person.
Ruah, who starred on NCIS: L.A. for 14 seasons until the series concluded in 2023, has since taken on directing roles for both NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i. She directed the upcoming NCIS: Hawai’i episode titled “The Next Thousand,” which will mark the franchise’s 1,001st episode.
The crossover will also introduce Spence Moore II as the new actor portraying Leon Vance’s son Jared. The episode promises a personal storyline centered around Director Vance, adding an element of danger and suspense that will involve characters from different NCIS franchises.
Looking ahead, CBS has announced plans for two new series to expand the NCIS universe. NCIS: Origins will be a prequel focusing on a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, originally played by Mark Harmon. The show is set to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
Additionally, a spinoff featuring Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, known for their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David on NCIS, has been confirmed by Paramount+. The new series will follow the couple as they navigate parenthood while raising their daughter, Tali.
As the NCIS franchise continues to grow, fans can catch the latest episodes of NCIS on CBS Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, followed by NCIS: Hawai’i at 10 p.m. ET.
