Following the announcement of a new NCIS spinoff featuring Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, it has been revealed that the show, titled NCIS: Europe, will not be airing on CBS but will instead be available for streaming on Paramount+. This decision marks a departure from the traditional broadcast platform for the NCIS franchise.
The president and CEO of CBS and chief content officer for Paramount+ explained that the spinoff project with Michael Weatherly felt more suited for a serialized streaming format. The move to Paramount+ allows for a different creative approach, offering a more in-depth and serialized storytelling experience compared to the typical procedural format seen on network television.
