The Illawarra Hawks have signed NBL champion Milton Doyle to a one-year deal in their push to return to the post-season.
One of the most dependable import guards of recent seasons, Doyle spent three years with Tasmania before joining Melbourne United last year.
He was selected on the All-NBL first team in 2023 and was a member of the JackJumpers' inaugural title-winning team the following season.
Across 131 NBL appearances, Doyle has averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds, and played 10 games for Brooklyn in the 2017/18 NBA season.
The 32-year-old is set to partner Tyler Harvey, recently granted Australian citizenship, in the back-court for Justin Tatum's fourth season as coach.
Wani Swaka Lo Buluk and Sam Froling shape as likely starters in the 2026/27 season as well.
Doyle is the Hawks' first import signing after an underwhelming eighth-placed finish to their title defence last season.
"Milton was a name we kept coming back to," said Hawks basketball operations officer Mat Campbell.
"He's proven he can be the guy in the biggest moments, a Grand Final winner, an All-NBL First Team player, and someone who has delivered wherever he's gone."
Elsewhere, the New Zealand Breakers have signed wing Josiah-Jordan James as their second import.
The 198cm American most recently played EuroCup basketball with Hapoel Jerusalem and was a member of Indiana's G-League affiliate side during the Pacers' excellent 2024/25 NBA season.
Melbourne United have also re-signed rotation guard Tom Wilson, who returned to the league last season following an AFL stint.
The former Collingwood Magpie has been averaging more than 20 points per game playing for Melbourne Tigers in the NBL1 South over the off-season.
He joins big names Chris Goulding, Joe Ingles, Shea Ili and Luke Travers on United's roster for Jacob Chance's first season as coach.
