After starting their road swing with a blowout victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, the Golden State Warriors’ struggles on the road returned on Sunday afternoon against Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls quickly stole the lead in the first quarter, jumping to a 15-point lead. After a slow start, the Warriors’ offense woke up in the second quarter to cut into Chicago’s advantage, but the second-quarter spark wasn’t enough to fuel a comeback on the road.
Nikola Vucevic matched a career-high with 43 points on 18-of-31 shooting from the field with five triples to go along with 13 boards and four assists in 39 minutes as the Bulls handed the Warriors a 132-118 loss during Sunday’s matinee.
Zach LaVine added 27 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the floor with nine rebounds and six assists in 40 minutes for the Bulls.
Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 26 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field with eight made triples, four rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes.
Steph Curry notched 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting with 10 boards and four assists to secure a double-double. However, Curry was responsible for eight of Golden State’s 23 turnovers against the Bulls.
With Sunday’s loss in Chicago, the Warriors’ road record has fallen to 4-17 for the 2022-23 NBA season.
Following Golden State’s loss in Chicago, the NBA community on Twitter weighed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what players and coaches were saying on Sunday afternoon.

I know everyone’s watching football, but just wanted to point out that the Warriors just lost to the Bulls & let Vucevic drop a career high 43 on them, are now under .500 after the halfway point of the season, and are an impossible 4-17 on the road this season.@Chris_Broussard

The Warriors might want to heat up those conversations about getting another center. Nikola Vucevic put 43 & 13 on their head!

And the Warriors' road struggles continue, this time with a 132-118.
Thompson finished with 26 points and Curry with 20, but they had no answers for Nikola Vucevic, who scored 43 on 18-of-31 shooting, 5 3's. The Warriors also had 23 turnovers for 31 Chicago points.

The Warriors are now 1-10 on the road against East teams this season. Losses to the Hornets, Pistons, Heat, Magic, Bucks, Pacers, Sixers, Nets, Knicks and now Bulls. Only road win against the conference came vs Raptors. Warriors back below .500 — 21-22.

Nikola Vucevic has popped the Warriors' interior for 41 points on 17/29 FG. He's beat them inside and outside. Five pick-and-pop 3s and a variety of paint buckets. Smaller lineups haven't worked. Warriors have turned it over 23 times. They're going to lose in Chicago.

This Warriors five-man lineup was a plus-14 in 4 minutes tonight, outscoring the Bulls 17-3

Knew the Warriors would lose this game, they’ve lost this same game 20 times already. Why is Lamb getting the developmental mins guys like Moody (even Baldwin) should be getting? They’re all just as bad as each other anyway lmaoo https://t.co/I4vT98hcuH

An ugly 132-118 loss for the Warriors against a Bulls team that didn't have DeMar DeRozan, had lost three straight and four of their last five
— Dalton Johnson (@DaltonJ_Johnson) January 15, 2023
Why on earth should we expect the Warriors to win tomorrow?
— Brian Witt (@Wittnessed) January 15, 2023
Turnovers cost them another game.
23 Turnovers.
Your two main ball handlers combine for 14 turnovers.
— warriorsworld (@warriorsworld) January 15, 2023
Like, the constant fouling and turnovers can’t be tolerated. There is no way for them to improve if those keep up.

Curry with eight turnovers. Warriors with 23 overall. Another ugly loss for the Warriors.
