Following a tight back-and-forth Game 1 that featured haymakers from each side, Game 2 between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers was a different story on Thursday night.
After the Lakers grabbed an early lead in the first quarter, the Warriors responded with a dominant second quarter and never looked back. Behind 14 points from Klay Thompson, the Warriors outscored the Lakers 41-23 in the second quarter to take an 11-point lead into halftime.
The Warriors showed no signs of slowing down coming out of the locker room at halftime, outscoring the Lakers big, 43-24. Thompson and JaMychal Green combined for 21 points in the third quarter to cruise into the fourth quarter with a 30-point advantage.
With a commanding lead, the Warriors tied the series with a blowout win in Game 2, 127-100.
Thompson lead all scorers with 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field with eight made 3-pointers to go along with three boards and an assist in 31 minutes.
In his first start of the postseason due to Kevon Looney dealing with an illness, JaMychal Green tallied 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field with three made triples.
Six different members of the Warriors notched double-figure scoring performances.
After the Warriors tied the series against the Lakers 1-1, the NBA community on Twitter fired away with different reactions from Game 2.

Amazing how much better the #Warriors look when the #Lakers aren't shooting a thousand free throws. Amiright?

Draymond 11/11/9, one assist from a triple double after declaring he wanted to play better in game two, which included defending AD and making it a quieter night.

Warriors cruise to a 127-100 victory over the Lakers in Game 2. Which adjustment from Game 1 played the largest role in the win?

Good news for the Lakers is Bron played just 28 minutes. And Davis just 33. They leave the Bay with a split and a decent minutes load

Whoops, ha. That’s a 41 point 2Q. But if the Warriors could be the 3Q Dubs all the time, that would be sweet 😉
