With Steph Curry (shoulder) and Andrew Wiggins (adductor) already ruled out on Tuesday against the New York Knicks, the Golden State Warriors’ injury report grew with the late additions of Donte DiVincenzo (illness) and JaMychal Green (health and safety protocols).
With the Warriors’ depth lacking, the streaking Knicks took advantage. Behind six players scoring in double-figures, New York cruised to their eighth consecutive win on Tuesday over the Warriors in blowout fashion, 132-94.
Julius Randle notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks. Immanuel Quickly logged a team-high 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor with five made triples off the bench.
Coming off a career-high performance on Sunday, Jordan Poole led all scorers with a game-high 26 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the floor with two rebounds and an assist in 29 minutes. No other members of the Warriors tallied over 13 points.
Following Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks, the Warriors’ record on the road fell to 3-15 on the season. It won’t get any easier for the Warriors with the second leg of a road back-to-back coming on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
After another road loss for the Warriors on Tuesday against the Knicks, the NBA community on Twitter weighed in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Tuesday night.

A defending champion should never have to relearn how to win.

They’re gonna get smacked tomorrow, too. Either they make a big change, or this is just how it’s gonna be.

The Knicks crush the Warriors by 38 points. That drops them to 3-15 on the road. They finish this wobbly trip tomorrow against the healthy Nets. Warriors still expected to be without Curry, Wiggins, DiVincenzo, JaMychal Green. Youth struggled with extra opportunity vs NYK.

The team and championship core is being held hostage for what we’re currently watching lol

Confidence in wiseman and moody at my all time lowest – just nothing encouraging. Everything looks remedial or so difficult. It’s hard to watch cuz I am/was/will be rooting for both guys.

I keep coming back to: they intentionally built a smaller roster knowing full well that they had essentially 5 first-or-second year players AND one player would be out indefinitely.
They didnt leave themselves any margin for error & we’re seeing that backfire on a nightly basis

40 point L to the Knicks o/u 42 point L to the Nets tmr?

Warriors can’t defend. That’s their biggest issue.
— Matt Steinmetz (@SteinmetzNBA) December 21, 2022
Sure, the Dubs are very shorthanded (no Steph, Wiggins, DDV, or JMG). But Klay’s struggles and the absence of any sort of meaningful depth means they’re sitting ducks. Meanwhile their biggest competitors have rolled without their biggest stars. Dark times ahead, esp with Bkn tmw
