Following a dominant performance in Game 2, the Golden State Warriors picked up where they left off in Game 3 in Hollywood. Behind a fast start from Klay Thompson, the Warriors jumped to a seven-point before the start of the second quarter.
The Warriors extended their least to double-figures into the second quarter. However, the Warriors quickly went ice-cold while LeBron James and the Lakers came alive in the second frame.
With James and Anthony Davis heating up, the Lakers closed the second quarter on a 30-8 run. The Lakers outscored the Warriors 36-18 in the second quarter to take an 11-point lead into the break at halftime.
After the Lakers took command, the Warriors showed no signs of recovery in the second half of Game 3.
Davis tallied 25 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor with 13 boards while Davis and D’Angelo Russell each added 21 points as the Lakers coasted to a blowout win in Game 3, 127-97.
Steph Curry was the only member of the Warriors to score over 20 points with 23 on 9-of-21 shooting from the field. Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga were the only other members of the Warriors to register double-figure scoring numbers.
After the Lakers grabbed a 2-1 lead in the series with a blowout win over the Warriors in Game 3, the NBA community fired away with reactions on Twitter. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Saturday night.

Klay Thompson's six turnovers are a career high for a playoff game

The next 19:38, the Warriors totaled 28 points

These last two games are the epitome of the Warriors' season: Jekyll and Hyde. Almost boggles the mind how a team so, so good at home two days ago could be so, so bad on the road tonight.

Jonathan Kuminga played 9 minutes of garbage time in the 4th quarter. He got to the free-throw line twice, and his 4 free throws led the Warriors.
Below are both ways found his way to the free-throw line

Steve Kerr has been a part of 9 NBA championship teams with 3 different organizations. People can criticize him but he knows what it takes to win a championship.

Bingo. Vando on Draymond, AD on JMG was the adjustment @ChrisVernonShow and I discussed on this week’s Mismatch. Only question was who got put on Curry. Now let’s see if the Warriors respond in Game 4 by moving JMG out of the starting lineup. https://t.co/oSgnulPwsr

2nd and 3rd quarter:
63-38 Lakers. Warriors shot 32% from the floor, 26% from 3, and turned it over 14 times (21 points for LA off of those TO's).
And of course the free throws. Lakers were 20/27; Dubs 3/3 in the 2nd & 3rd quarters.

Rough game from Klay… the amount of turnovers was awful.

5 Different Lakers have attempted more FTs than Steph in the series.
Only Superstar who doesn’t get Superstar calls.

Clearly they got dismantled in 2H, lots went wrong, what went right for the @warriors GSW fans? Anything encouraging that can be exploited/utilized/employed for game 4 & beyond? I’d love to hear anything positive rn tbh

— warriorsworld (@warriorsworld) May 7, 2023
Obviously the refs are not the only reason the #Warriors are losing tonight but it needs to be mentioned that the FT attempt disparity is currently LA-37 GSW-11 w/9:11 left in the 4Q. That’s absurd. 26 more FT attempts? 26? https://t.co/vNqFZ1FeIL

Yeah, that's it. Rest up for Game 4. Anthony Davis dominated Game 3. Have to give him credit, he adjusted and played his ass off on the defensive end.

The Warriors have too many unforced errors and trail LAL 86-68 after three. After outscoring LA 84-47 in 2nd and 3rd in Game2,the Dubs have been outscored 63 -38 in those quarters today.
