In the latest round of NBA trade rumors, the Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly pursuing Chicago Bulls forward Torrey Craig. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points reported that Milwaukee has “shown interest” in Craig as a way to bolster its frontcourt, and the team could package MarJon Beauchamp and Pat Connaughton in the deal.
NBA Trade Rumors: Milwaukee Bucks Could Trade MarJon Beauchamp, Pat Connaughton To Chicago Bulls For Torrey Craig
“No team has shown interest in making a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks at this time,” Siegel wrote. “MarJon Beauchamp ($2.7 million) and Pat Connaughton ($9.4 million) are the two players the Bucks have made available in trade discussions in order to try and add talent on the wing.
“Veteran forward Torrey Craig from the Chicago Bulls is a player Milwaukee has shown interest in, sources said. Rival teams would much rather discuss Bobby Portis if he was to become available before the trade deadline.”
Craig, 33, has seen limited action this season, and he is a seven-year veteran who has played with five franchises, including Milwaukee where he helped the Bucks win the 2021 NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns.
In 228 career NBA regular-season games across five seasons, Craig has averaged 9.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 27.8 minutes per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field, 40.9% from 3-point range, and 78.5% at the free throw line.
Through just four games (one start) this season, he’s averaging 5.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and a career-low 11.3 minutes. The USC Upstate product would improve the Bucks’ depth.
Bulls Are More Than Willing To Discuss Patrick Williams In A Trade
Per Spotrac, Craig has a cap hit of just $2.8 million for 2024-25 and a $2.8 million player option for 2025-26. In other words, he would be a low-risk addition for the Bucks.
Jake Fischer also reported Friday in his Bleacher Report live stream that the “[Bulls] are more willing than ever to discuss [Patrick Williams] in a trade.” Fischer referred to Williams’ inexpensive salary as the reasoning behind such a trade.
The 23-year-old is currently in the first season of a five-year, $90 million contract. His deal includes a 2028-29 player option worth $18 million. However, as part of his contract agreement, he cannot be traded until Jan. 15, 2025.
Williams is continuing to experience foot pain following a February surgery, so his value will remain low until he is able to play at full strength. Through 15 games (all starts), he’s averaging 9.9 points and career highs of 5.0 rebounds and 28.9 minutes per contest.
