Wizards guard Jordan Poole was moments from making a highlight reel play after sending Pistons star Cade Cunningham tumbling with a nasty stepback move.
Rather than finish the play off with a mid-range jump shot, Poole opted to toss up a weak layup, which was emphatically rejected by Detroit rookie Ausar Thompson.
Poole had Cunningham on skates, sending the former No. 1 pick stumbling to the baseline and creating a ridiculous amount of space for a clean, uncontested shot. Instead of pulling the trigger, the 24-year-old hesitated and tried to attack the basket with a half-hearted scoop layup, which Thompson swatted into the seats.
NBA fans on social media were in disbelief and roasted Poole for effectively robbing himself of a highlight-reel ankle breaker, and instead putting himself on the wrong end of a disastrous lowlight.

Creating that much space and still getting your shot blocked is crazy https://t.co/LDaxA9XF03
