After a flurry of offseason moves, the Boston Celtics will have their eyes set on the Larry O’Brien trophy in 2024. Team president Brad Stevens has made tough decisions this summer, most notably in deciding to move on from Marcus Smart. Nevertheless, Boston’s primary goal is to win Banner 18, and the belief is that Kristaps Porzingis can help them achieve that goal. A championship won’t be the only thing the Celtics get a chance to compete for in the upcoming season, as the NBA is launching their in-season tournament.
On Wednesday, August 15, the league released the Celtics’ schedule for the in-season tournament, placing them in ‘East Group C,’ along with the Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Orlando Magic. Given the talent on Boston’s roster, they should feel confident about finishing top of their in-season tournament group and will have the added incentive that each game still counts toward their regular-season record.
