'NBA 2K27' Gets a 'GTA 6' Crossover as Teased by 2K in Season 1 Trailer—What to Expect?

2K Sports has dropped a surprising hint inside "NBA 2K27," teasing a crossover with one of gaming's most anticipated upcoming releases.

The tease came buried at the tail end of a trailer that is otherwise focused entirely on showing off "NBA 2K27's" own launch content.

'NBA 2K27' x 'GTA VI' Crossover Teased in New Trailer

2K Sports released a two-minute trailer earlier today covering "NBA 2K27's" Season 1 content, including new cosmetics, the "My Team" and "My City" modes, and new locations like Lion & Vine Park.

Near the end of the video, footage shows a location called 2K Mart, and inside it, a poster featuring palm trees and color grading that closely mirrors "GTA VI's" own official artwork.

Two arcade machines shown in the same scene are labeled "Season 3," and police sirens can be heard in the background alongside the imagery, another clear nod toward Rockstar's franchise. The "Season 3"

The trailer does not explain what the crossover will actually include, leaving fans to speculate based purely on the visual and audio cues packed into that brief moment.

'NBA 2K27' Season 3 Is Getting the 'GTA 6' Collab

Take-Two Interactive owns both Rockstar Games and 2K, making a crossover between two of its biggest franchises less surprising at the corporate level, even if the actual content remains unknown for now.

This would not be the first time the two properties have crossed paths either, since "NBA 2K26" briefly appeared inside GTA+, Rockstar's premium subscription service for "GTA Online" players, earlier this year.

Some fans online have speculated the collaboration could let players bring their "NBA 2K27" created player build directly onto basketball courts within "GTA VI" itself. However, nothing along those lines has been confirmed by either studio.

According to GameRant, other early theories point toward simpler additions, like Vice City-themed gear or cosmetic items inside "NBA 2K27," rather than any deeper functional connection between the two games.

When to Expect 'NBA 2K27' x 'GTA VI'

According to the trailer, "NBA 2K27" Season 2 is confirmed to begin October 16 and, based on the roughly six-week season length the series has followed historically, Season 3 would likely begin sometime around the end of November.

That timing lines up closely with "GTA VI's" own November 19 release date, making it likely the crossover content arrives in "NBA 2K27" shortly after Rockstar's game officially launches.

Neither 2K nor Rockstar has given an exact date for when Season 3 will actually begin or what the GTA-themed content will include, so the specific launch window could still land earlier or later than currently expected.

With "GTA VI's" Netflix preview and Rockstar's own extended gameplay look scheduled for later this week, some fans are hoping additional details about the crossover might surface then.

That said, most reporting suggests that the showcase will likely stay focused on "GTA VI" itself rather than expanding on this newly teased "NBA 2K27" tie-in.
