Navi Mumbai: 2 robbed in separate incidents; 1 held by Government Railway Police

NAVI MUMBAI: The Vashi GRP has registered two robbery cases, which took place on the premises of Seawoods and Turbhe railway stations on Tuesday. While the Vashi GRP has detected the robbery that occurred at Turbhe station by arresting one accused, the robbers at Seawoods station are yet to arrested. In the Seawoods railway station incident, a 59-year-old woman Gita Patil, residing in Darave village, was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs 1.15 lakh by two robbers while she was climbing the staircase on the subway. The duo escaped from the station's entrance.

At Turbhe railway station, a 21-year-old college student Sijan Solkar was robbed by a youth in his 20s, while she was climbing the staircase to reach platform number 2. The robber snatched her purse, which contained an iPhone worth Rs 70,000, headphones worth Rs 1,500 and Rs 400 cash. Sambhaji Katare, senior inspector of Vashi GRP said, “In the robbery of the college student Solkar, we have arrested the accused Ramzan Mandal (22). The CCTV cameras have captured the images of the two Seawoods robbers, who are being traced.”
