NatWest and RBS online banking apps went down for thousands of customers this morning, leaving some people unable to access their accounts.
The technical issues started around 8.20am with almost 2,000 people struggling to log in, according to outage tracker DownDetector.
NatWest and RBS customers were being greeted with a message on both apps that read: "We're sorry, some kind of error has occurred when trying to establish a connection between your device and ourselves.
"Please close the app and try again."
Customers had also complained to both banks on social media, as millions of workers couldn't access their money after being paid.
One NatWest user asked: "Anyone else having an issue with NatWest online app, it seems to have failed this morning?"
Another tweeted: "Anyone else having problems getting on the NatWest app?"
A customer with RBS said: "Your app is down and I can’t get in at all and need to pay rent, and your account has completely logged me out and I don’t remember my passwords."
Another said: "Your banking app is not working!"
In response to one customer, NatWest said on Twitter: "This is a recent incident that has just occurred.
"Rest assured we will get the issue resolved ASAP so please try again in a little while or use telephone banking if urgent."
One NatWest customer told The Mirror: "I am a NatWest banking customer, have been for many years, and I use the NatWest mobile banking app pretty much every day.
"I tried logging into my account using my phone just a few minutes ago, and received a message telling me: We're sorry, some kind of error has occurred when trying to establish a connection between your device and ourselves."
DownDectector recorded more than 1,700 complaints from NatWest customers shortly after 9am, alongside over 200 complaints from RBS users.
The outage tracker said 73% of the issues being reported by NatWest customers were to do with mobile banking, while a further 25% were linked to online banking.
Around 83% of the complaints from RBS users were about mobile banking, while 16% were to do with online banking.
Both NatWest and RBS are owned by the NatWest Group. A NatWest spokesperson told The Mirror the issue was fixed at around 11.30am.
NatWest and RBS customers aren't the only ones who have struggled with a bank service crash this week.
Nationwide customers were locked out of their accounts yesterday leaving some customers unable to pay bills on payday.
Are you entitled to money back for bank glitches?
If your bank services have gone down, you aren't automatically entitled to any compensation - it instead depends on how badly the outage has affected you.
For example, if it made you miss a bill or some sort of payment.
It also depends on how long the service disruption lasts for and how quickly the bank worked to resolve it.
NatWest and RBS both have dedicated pages online to help you make a complaint.
If you're considering making a complaint, you should gather evidence about how the service issues affected you and for how long.
If you're in desperate need of access to your money but your online services are down, you can go to your local bank branch to withdraw your funds as normal.
If you don’t have a local bank branch nearby or you're unable to get there, try and call your bank or contact it on social media to ask what to do.
