Dylan Crews is an LSU legend. In 2023, Crews led the LSU baseball team to a College World Series championship by hitting .426 with 18 home runs and 70 RBI. Crews’ performance led him to become the No. 2 overall pick of the Washington Nationals in the 2023 Major League Baseball draft.
Crews was assigned the Class-A Fredericksburg Nationals, where he went three for three and was immediately promoted to the Double-AA Harrisburg Senators. Crews had a phenomenal spring, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s roaming the outfield every day at Nationals Park.
Jayden Daniels is another LSU legend. He spent the past two seasons as LSU’s starting quarterback and won the Heisman Trophy in 2023. Daniels is now projected to be a top-five pick in next month’s NFL draft.
The Washington Commanders hold the No. 2 overall pick and need a quarterback. Could Washington bring another LSU product to the nation’s capital with the second pick?
If Crews had his way, Daniels would be in Washington this fall, too.
“We’ve talked a couple times, and I really hope he does (come to DC),” Daniels told the “Grant and Danny” Show on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, via Lou DiPietro of Audacy.
“That’d be pretty cool. Amazing talent. For a dual-threat guy that can run the ball and sling it like he does, I think it would be a perfect fit for here.”
Could two of LSU’s top stars be reuniting in Washington soon? The 2024 NFL draft is less than one month away, and the current odds favor Daniels following Crews to D.C.
