NEW DELHI: The govt sees the National Sports Governance Bill 2024 as a one-step solution to end federations' politics and bring transparency and accountability in their functioning. The bill has been put in public domain for inviting comments and suggestions of the general public and the stakeholders, as part of the pre-legislative consultation process.
On Wednesday, sports minister Mansukh Mandaviya vowed to resolve the infighting and unprofessionalism plaguing the national federations with the introduction of the proposed legislation, sending a clear warning to such NSFs that they can't run away from their responsibilities towards athletes owing to factionalism and mismanagement.
