Did you know that nearly everyone in the national media thinks that the Minnesota Vikings are fraudulent? It’s only been a part of nearly every conversation about the Vikings since the middle of the season.
They are continuing as we go into the wild-card round, but a new one has entered the fold: The Vikings beat the New York Giants in Week 16 only because of a 61-yard field goal. Not wide receiver Justin Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson dominating the Giants secondary, only the 61-yard field goal.

Yes, that is the new narrative about the Vikings. They can’t get credit for kicker Greg Joseph setting a franchise record for longest field goal at the end of regulation. Max Kellerman even went as far as to say the Giants have a better quarterback in Daniel Jones:

The national media will continue to do anything they can to discredit the Vikings, but if you are going to do that, at least come at the argument with context. Don’t just say they are lucky or have a negative point differential so we will take the Giants. What they forget to mention is that the Giants do as well, but that doesn’t fit their narrative.
The national media is treating the Vikings unfairly, and that’s just another piece of motivation.
