National media view on Gerrard's performance against Barca
Steven Gerrard proved he can still light up Anfield as he scored on his return to the famous stadium, but it was not enough to prevent his team from slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Barcelona Legends in a charity game to raise money for the LFC Foundation on Saturday.
Lining up alongside a host of former team-mates including Jamie Carragher and Dirk Kuyt, it did not take long for Gerrard to make an impact as he earned the home side a penalty when he was brought down by Edmilson.
There was no doubting who would take the spot-kick, and Gerrard duly converted from 12 yards to put Liverpool in front in the 14th minute.

Barcelona transfer interest could be blessing in disguise for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
Barcelona's reported interest in Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah could end up being a blessing in disguise for Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds frontman is out of contract in a little over a year, meaning time is ticking for Liverpool to tie him down to a new deal. However, talks are understood to have been unproductive thus far, with Salah's party looking to make him one of the best players in world football, and understandably so given his performances since joining the club.
With no resolution in sight for Salah and the Reds though, talk of a move away at the end of next season has been rife. And Barcelona have joined a growing list of clubs said to be keen to snap up the Egyptian.
According to Sport, via Sport Witness, the Blaugrana have identified Salah as an alternative to Erling Haaland, who appears to be increasingly likely to join Real Madrid or Manchester City over Barca. Nou Camp chiefs are also considering the possibility that they will need a replacement for Ousmane Dembele, who is set to leave Catalonia this summer.
Having won the Premier League and the Champions League at Anfield, Salah may feel there is not much left for him to achieve on Merseyside, and previous reports from Spain suggest he could be after 'a change of scenery'. If that is the case, Klopp may want to think twice about keeping Salah.
