National Hydro-electric Power Corporation expert team inspects damage to Polavaram project

Amaravati: In a move to crack the mystery behind the damage to the Polavaram diaphragm wall, a team of experts from National Hydro-electric Power Corporation (NHPC) inspected Polavaram project on Tuesday. After top brains of the country in geophysics and hydro and civil engineering sectors failed to provide solution to take the project works ahead, Union Jal Shakti ministry had handed over the baton to the NHPC experts.

The team comprising NHPC executive director SL Kapil, senior manager (geophysics) Vipul, senior manager (civil) AK Bharati, Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) deputy director Praveen and IIT professor Dr Sandeep visited the diaphragm wall area and took up an in-depth study.
