AHMEDABAD: About 8000 players from 36 states and Union Territories of the country are going to participate in various 36 sports as a part of the National games scheduled to be held in Gujarat.
Various competitions will be held in six cities of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar. A National Games Executive Committee has been formed under the leadership of Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar to organise 36 different games in a total of 17 places in these cities. Apart from this, the responsibility of the city committee has been entrusted to the officials of secretary level in 6 metros.
