National Flags sewn by women of Kashmir to flutter in Kolkata homes

KOLKATA: National Flags made by women in Kashmir are set to flutter in homes of Kolkata soon. Organisations in Kolkata and Kashmir, along with the Army, are facilitating this move to generate funds to help the Kashmiri women earn a living and become self-dependent.

"Promoting the artisans of Kashmir to the national stage has been one of the major endeavours by IHA Foundation. During the celebration of the 75th Independence Day it was apt that the National Flag sewn in Kashmiri homes would be unfurled with pride across India, embodying the oneness and solidarity of the Indians on this historic occasion," said Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, chairman IHA Foundation.
