Living beyond 100 is no longer a rarity as the number of centenarians have almost doubled in the last 20 years. Centenarians are projected to make up 0.1% of the population by 2054. The number of Americans aged 100 and older are expected to quadruple over the next 300 years, from an estimated 101,000 in 2024 to about 422,000 in 2054, as per estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.
National Centenarian's Day is celebrated annually on September 22. This day is celebrated to honor the people who turned 100 and beyond. Centenarians have the best stories to tell. Unlike the history textbooks that are notorious for being boring, they tell tales straight out of their times, and tell you unknown facts you never knew existed, which are fascinating to listen to.
