Nathan Patterson HOOKED for Everton as debut chance ends in nightmare FA Cup scenario

Nathan Patterson's Everton debut ended with an FA Cup nightmare as he lasted just 45 minutes against Boreham Wood in the FA Cup.

The Scotland right-back was finally given a chance by Frank Lampard against the non-league side as he was named in the starting XI.

It was his senior debut and he gave good account of himself in the first half down the right hand side.

But Lampard was left unhappy with his team's lack of penetration and opted to throw Richarlison on at the break to break the 0-0 deadlock.

And the switch to a back four meant that Patterson was hooked with Jonjoe Kenny moving out to right-back.

It was Patterson's first appearance since arriving from Rangers in the summer in a deal that could rise to £16m.

And he'll be hoping there are more to come after his first crack at the whip ended in disappointment.
