Nathan Carter is keeping new Fermanagh home "private" and won't treat his followers to a view of it

Nathan Carter said he's keeping his new house "private" to escape his legions of adoring fans.

Speaking with RSVP Country, the country star recently moved and insisted he won't be treating his followers to a view of his new home in Co Fermanagh.

Liverpool native Nathan, 33, told RSVP Country: "It is very nice, quiet and peaceful on the lake.

"I got so much exposure in the last house that I decided to leave this as my private place.

"I'm not going to show pictures of it. I did photoshoots in the old one, myself and [my brother] Jake did a BBC NI special.

"We were filmed in the living room and they got a tour of the house.

"It all seems like a good idea at the time but sometimes you just need a place where no one knows and it is just your safe place."

The Wagon Wheel singer admitted it's taken a while for him to get his head around his fame and he was a "bit freaked out" by people recognising him.

Nathan revealed: "Doing day to day things like going out for a few drinks with friends has changed.

"From being anonymous to being photographed and filmed in a bar while trying to have a quiet drink took some getting used to.

"You are always switched on, because you don't know if someone is filming you.

"Not that I'd be doing anything that I shouldn't be doing but it is in the back of your mind all the time."

However, the star was keen to stress that he doesn't mind fans asking him for a picture or video, because most are really nice.

On his meteoric rise a decade ago, he said: "Coppers were playing it [Wagon Wheel] five times a night and all wedding bands were doing it, it just snowballed.
