Nathan Ake to Chelsea transfer: 'Full agreement', £30m ‘bid’, Manchester City demand

Chelsea are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window this summer. Thomas Tuchel is preparing for a rebuild of his squad, following the loss of some key players in his team.

Two valuable squad members that have left are Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger. The pair were integral to the German coach’s Champions League victory last year, leaving very few options left at the back.

However, following the takeover of the club, new owner Todd Boehly has reportedly offered over £200million in resources to spend this summer on making additions in the market. It will give Tuchel some much needed spending power, especially in refreshing his defence.

A whole host of defenders have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, including a return for Nathan Ake from Manchester City. With that said, football.london have taken a look at what's being said about the possibility of a move for the 27-year-old.

Full agreement

Chelsea have reached a full agreement with Ake on personal terms, according to Fabrizio Romano. City are said to be aware of the defender's eagerness to leave, though the Blues are yet to table a bid.

Pep Guardiola's side wanted between £40million and £50million for Ake, with the club keen to replace him if he leaves.

Advanced talks

Chelsea are now in advanced talks to re-sign Manchester City defender Nathan Ake this summer, football.london understands. It comes as Tuchel looks to reinforce his defensive options and the Netherlands international could be the first signing to solve that.

Manchester City price

Manchester City would not consider letting Nathan Ake go this summer without having a replacement lined up, reports the Manchester Evening News. The left-footed defender is often used by Pep Guardiola as a specialist on the left of his defence.

The report adds that it would take more than £50million to convince City to let Ake leave the club this summer.

Chelsea ‘bid’

Chelsea are planning on making an official offer for Ake in the region of £30million, football.london understands. The Netherlands international has struggled for game time at Manchester City, making just 14 Premier League appearances last season.

Nathan Ake return

Thomas Tuchel is interested in bringing defender Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge, according to Fabrizio Romano. The German coach is said to view the 27-year-old as a priority alongside compatriot Matthijs de Ligt for the centre-back vacancies.

Ake spent six years with the Blues, joining as a youngster in 2011 and leaving for Bournemouth in 2017. In that time, he managed 17 first team appearances.
