Nathan Ake has admitted he wants to win every honour possible at Manchester City this season.
City travel to RB Leipzig for the first of their two-legged Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday evening, with Pep Guardiola still searching for his first European title since arriving in Manchester back in 2016. The Spaniard conquered the continent twice with Barcelona but has since failed to replicate that feat in the 12 years that followed, firstly with Bayern Munich and then the Blues.
Defeat in the 2021 final against Chelsea remains the closest City have come to lifting the famous trophy, but the summer arrival of Erling Haaland looks to have fixed the shortcomings that saw them beaten in Porto that evening. And Ake admits the goal in Europe is the same as every competition.

"Every competition we play there's pressure, every game we have to win," Ake said. "You know, when you're at a club like Man City you want to win every trophy possible.
"That’s no different for the Champions League, we go into this game with the same mentality that we want to win this game and progress and that's our aim for the Premier League, for all the cups and it's no diff for the Champions League. Obviously we want to win it."
With both Kevin De Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte absent for the first leg in Germany, Ake is expected to return to the starting line-up at left-back, following his role from the bench against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Guardiola has opted for an unorthodox formation that saw Bernardo Silva fill in at full-back out of possession, although the Portuguese international's presence will likely be needed in midfield.
