Nate Diaz piles in to Conor McGregor's death threat row with Dustin Poirier

Nate Diaz has claimed Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier always get "knocked out" as he weighed in on their online feud.

McGregor is out of action after breaking his leg in a second consecutive loss to Poirier last year, but their feud is far from over. The pair have been heavily linked with renewing their rivalry for a fourth time, after their last meeting ended in a furious spat while the Irishman was receiving treatment for his injury.

After news broke yesterday that Poirier had been hospitalised with an infection, McGregor took to social media to mock the American to which he responded: "You ready to get slapped around again?" McGregor then added a lengthy rant containing a death threat, tweeting: "Ye I’m in Amsterdam jacked like Van Damme.

"You weren’t just hurt pal. You were scared hurt don’t forget it. I’m coming back to put you in a box. Full of it. I’m sending you off this earth. Permanent. Stay waiting for the road house as well pal you and the missus will love it." Diaz then waded into the row posting a screenshot of the verbal barbs, with the caption: "You both get knocked out all the time."

McGregor then turned his attention to rival Diaz, who he has already fought twice during his UFC career falling to a defeat in their first 2016 meeting before avenging it later that year. He hit back at Stockon native, replying: "You too but just for the weed, we build a weed company. F*** the p*** sauce I gave that tick at the press conference.

"Not even a thanks. He is going in a box, and me and you are going in a hot box for the knock haha. I’m in Amsterdam like Sadam rocking round Iran haha. Van Dam chop his head quick. Must." He later added: "Public translate: I’m fighting you too. But I will bury him quick first.

"Way handier fight/her knickers/more recent story line etc. If he bottles it, it’s you. I’m also in Amsterdam, weed's great, and I’m not a bad guy I’m just a great martial arts actor with boat loads of money." Diaz's contract with the UFC has now expired, which would see McGregor more likely to clash again with Poirier when he returns over any trilogy.

However both McGregor and Diaz have left the door open to a third fight after they swapped victories in 2016. Diaz's manager Zach Rosenfield believes his star will still seek a trilogy with McGregor in the near future.

He told MMA Junkie : “Nate is going to be looking at the biggest fights possible. He has stated that completing the trilogy with Conor McGregor is something that interests him, and that has not changed. You will see Nate competing multiple times in 2023, and that will include boxing."
