Natasha Lyonne Hits Back At Claims She Was Escorted Off A Flight Following The Euphoria Premiere

Natasha Lyonne

Actress Natasha Lyonne has spoken out after reports she was escorted off a plane before takeoff.

“My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports. 💞,” the 47-year-old Poker Face star wrote via X following the incident. “Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with @DrewBarrymore yesterday but guess [that] wasn’t in the cards.”

Lyonne — who was reportedly scheduled to appear on The Drew Barrymore Show on Wednesday, April 8 (US time) — added: “Who owns Page Six/New York Post now again?”

Page Six previously reported that Lyonne was seated in first class on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to New York on Tuesday, April 7, when she allegedly didn’t respond to repeated requests from flight attendants to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt for takeoff. Wearing sunglasses, the actress appeared to be asleep and at one point woke up startled, telling a flight attendant, “Ah! You scared me!”

Her laptop was reportedly taken from her as the plane began taxiing, before the aircraft returned to the gate. A Delta staff member then boarded and asked her to disembark, saying, “Ma’am, do you need medical attention? Ma’am, I need you to come off the plane. Do you need help with your belongings?”

One eyewitness — who told reporters Lyonne seemed “out of it” — claimed the actress asked, “Where are we?” The flight attendent then allegedly told her, “We’re still in L.A. The plane hasn’t gone anywhere. The plane is not going anywhere until you come off it.”

Page Six reports Lyonne then “shushed” the gate agent and went to the bathroom, before emerging, eating a bag of pretzels. Her luggage was then removed from the plane, and she finally disembarked.

The plane’s captain issued the following apology to passengers: “We have a passenger who, for whatever reason … wouldn’t follow some basic commands. We had a passenger who didn’t seem up to the task tonight, so that’s why they were asked to be booked on another flight, I do apologise for the inconvenience, but we will get you to New York as quickly and as safely as possible.”

The flight was held up for over an hour before eventually departing without any further issues.

The incident came just hours after Lyonne attended the season three premiere of Euphoria in Los Angeles, in which she’s set to appear when it returns later this month.
