Natasha Hamilton has issued a warning to Mae Muller ahead of her Eurovision performance on Saturday – beware of stairs.
The Atomic Kitten singer felt compelled to warn the UK hopeful after watching a snippet of Muller’s routine in which she walks down a set of stairs unassisted.
The Real Housewives of Cheshire star explained that watching the stage moment sent her into a spin as she recalled attempting the same move on tour, revealing that she “nearly killed” herself after slipping on her flares.
Speaking to The Standard, Hamilton, 40, shared: “I watched the second Eurovision semi-final, and they showed a snippet of Mae’s performance. They’ve given her stairs to walk down at the beginning of her song and no one was holding her hand.
“I was just looking going, ‘noooo!’. If you’re going to do stairs then someone needs to be holding you, especially when you’re singing.
“When we [Atomic Kitten] were on our last arena tour, we wore these Dolce & Gabbana flared trousers and we had to strut down a set of steps, but I tripped over one of my flares and nearly killed myself.
“I’ve been there, bought that T-shirt - get someone to hold your [Mae Muller] hand walking down stairs on stage.”
Stairs aside, Hamilton, who has teamed up Deliveroo ahead of the Eurovision grand finale, shared her support for Muller, revealing that she has “everything crossed” for the starlet’s euro-success.
“I’ve got everything crossed for Mae because when you enter a competition, you want to do well,” the music star said.
“I think Mae’s song is really catchy. It’s not a big belter like some of the other countries, but it has got that Euro pop sound that I think will really appeal.”
Hamilton’s comments comes as she teamed up with Deliveroo to launch their ‘Deliver-pudlian’ menus - phonetically spelt menus to celebrate the much-loved Liverpudlian accent and help Eurovision tourists get down with the lingo during Europe’s largest song contest.
