Natalie Portman was spotted sharing a loving kiss with her husband just days before news broke that he allegedly cheated on her with a younger woman.
The 41-year-old Oscar winner is thought to be battling to try and save her marriage to Benjamin Millepied, 45, who she has been married to since 2012.
Despite the cheating allegations, the couple looked as happy as ever earlier this week as they chatted with friends, including director Todd Haynes, while in Paris for the Cannes Film Festival.
Natalie and Benjamin dined with pals at the restaurant Georges and even shared a romantic kiss, as Natalie appeared to hold on to a red rose.
The Hollywood actress looked beautiful wearing a pink patterned dress with short sleeves and a long skirt, which she paired with a small black belt.
She accessorised her look with a stylish pair of black cat-eye sunglasses.
During their dinner, Natalie became engrossed in a conversation with Todd, who she worked with on the film May December. Natalie sipped on a glass of wine as she seemed to enjoy their chat.
Benjamin sat next to his wife at the dining table and was pictured also chatting to another woman while Natalie mingled with friends.
While Natalie and Benjamin seemed happy at Cannes, their marriage has been rocked by reports he cheated on her with 25-year-old climate activist Camille Étienne.
A source told Page Six : "They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family.
"She is incredibly private. Her biggest focus right now is protecting the kids."
Together the couple share two children - 11-year-old son Aleph and six-year-old daughter Amalia.
Reports suggest Natalie and Benjamin’s marriage has been on the rocks since November last year.
People magazine has claimed Benjamin has issued a grovelling apology to his wife to try and gain her forgiveness.
A source told the outlet: "He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together."
