Natalie Portman appears to have quietly confirmed that her marriage has ended.
For months now a question mark has hung over the status of her relationship with husband Benjamin Millepied, 46, following allegations that he cheated on the Thor: Love and Thunder star.
Neither have addressed the allegations, but the Oscar-winning actress, 42, seemed to give her biggest hint yet that the 11-year marriage was over in a new interview.
Portman gave a sit-down chat with WSJ. Magazine for its latest issue where the reporter spoke to her at her home in Paris, France, where they said she lives with her children Aleph, 12, and daughter Amalia, six, but gave no mention of her spouse.
The interview was published just days after she appeared downcast as she made a solo appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday, where she was seen without her wedding ring.
The last time Israeli-born Portman was spotted with the golden band on her finger was in early June - days after Millepied's alleged infidelity was revealed.
At the time, a French outlet called Voici released an explosive report that claimed the choreographer had cheated on her with a 25-year-old climate activist.
A further report from US publication People at the time that his romance was "short-lived" was now "over".
It went on to claim that Millepied was "doing all he could" to get "Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together."
"He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together," a source told the publication.
"Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy."
By August it was being reported by multiple outlets that they had separated. The Standard has contacted a representative for Natalie Portman for comment.
