Nat-Gas Prices Surge on Cold US Weather Outlook for January

January Nymex natural gas (NGF25) on Friday closed up +0.116 (+3.52%), adding to Thursday's rally of +5.81%.

Jan nat-gas prices rallied sharply on Friday and extended this week's rally to a 1-month high.  Prices rallied on the prospects for colder US temperatures that would boost heating demand for nat-gas.  EBW AnalyticsGroup said the longer-range weather outlook is for a mid-January cold spell in the southern US that could lead to freeze-offs and nat-gas production disruptions.
