'Nasty' Glasgow Central Station attack prompts urgent witness appeal from police

An urgent witness appeal has been launched after a 'nasty' attack on a man inside Glasgow Central train station.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to the station at 4.45am this morning (March 18) following reports of a serious assault.

Paramedics also attended, and a 31-year-old man was treated at the scene for head and face injuries.

Detectives investigating an incident are now urgently appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

DI Marc Francey said: “This was a particularly nasty attack that could have resulted in more severe injuries for the victim and must have caused significant distress to those who witnessed it.
