NASHIK: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nashik have booked a police inspector and a police naik of the Malegaon city police station in connection to a case of demanding bribe of Rs 20,000.
ACB officials said that the complainant in the case had approached the ACB after a police inspector and a police naik were demanding money from him for not putting his name in case pertaining to drugs.
ACB officials said that on September 3, the complainant was picked up when he was returning home after having food outside. The PI and the police naik had demanded Rs one lakh from him for not putting his name in a case of drugs. Subsequently, they had demanded Rs 50 thousand.
Subsequently, through a private person, the police officer and the naik had demanded Rs 20 thousand.
The ACB got the FIR filed and after the demand of bribe from the concerned policemen was established,. The case is being investigated further.
