Naomi Osaka announced the birth of her daughter on Thursday with a sweet social media post. She also hinted at her return to tennis.
“Well that was a cool little intermission, now back to your regularly scheduled program,” Osaka wrote on Twitter.
The women’s tennis association announced Osaka gave birth on Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to ESPN. She said she was pregnant in a January Instagram post alongside her boyfriend, rapper Cordae.
Osaka has not played a tournament since September 2022 in the Toray Pan Pacific Open, but she said she plans to return next year.

The 25-year-old is a four-time Grand Slam winner and a former world No. 1. It’s unclear when Osaka will return to the sport, but judging by her announcement, she’ll likely return as soon as she possible.
