She may have one of the most illustrious careers in the fashion industry, but Naomi Campbell has kept details of her personal life, including details about her children, any husband and partners, relatively private.
So who has been able to capture this icon’s heart? While Campbell has said she learned to be notoriously quite about her personal life off her once-rumoured flame Robert De Niro, there are still hints and details out there.
Here, we’ve tracked down a few past lovers on the record.
Robert De Niro, Early 1990s
Naomi Campbell and Robert De Niro never went public, but it was rumoured they dated for several years and that Campbell was head-over-heels for the actor.
She also credited him with her ‘ways’ of keeping private details out of the public eye. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal in the ’90s, she said:
“For me, privacy is important to know each other, and I always worry that my job will not allow that. But I have ways. I was taught that by Robert De Niro.”
In 2012, Vogue reported that Campbell wanted De Niro to be the father of her children.
“Naomi’s friends Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer have babies, and she wants one too,” a source reportedly said. “She met De Niro again for drinks in New York a few weeks back and then they went back to her place. Naomi feels he is the calm thing in her life. He was the one she would call at night whenever she needed someone to talk to, and this is the first time in a long time that he’s single and available.”
However, Campbell confirmed the romance in 2020, when she told The Times:
“Whatever they say about me, I have remained friends with all my exes … except the last one,” she said, per People, (“the last one” presumed to be Vladimir Doronin). “I saw Robert De Niro just before lockdown.”
Adam Clayton, 1992-1993
Naomi reportedly dated U2 band member Adam Clayton between 1992 and 1993 after he said in an interview that one thing he desired but did not have was: “A date with Naomi Campbell.”
There are also some rumours that the couple were engaged, although they were never confirmed. What we do know is that the two remained friends, with Naomi confirming this in 2015.
“I’m friends with the whole [of U2]. The whole band were great. Their kids are all grown up,” she said.
“It’s nice to know people for so long and still have a relationship… I only have very positive things to say about him. I am very proud of Adam.”
Leonardo DiCaprio, 1995
Naomi Campbell and Leonardo DiCaprio were rumoured to have had a fling in 1995, and remain on friendly terms. They were even seen on holiday together in 2013.
They were also photographed at a tiger conservation event together in 2010, along with Campbell’s then-boyfriend, Vladislav Doronin.
Flavio Briatore, 1998-2003
Naomi has had few known long-term loves, including former Formula One boss Flavio Briatore.
The pair dated for around five years and Briatore nearly became Naomi Campbell’s husband: the couple got engaged in 1999 after a year of dating. But the two eventually broke things off, under what appears to be amicable circumstances.
In fact, Flavio went on to date Campbell’s supermodel peer, Heidi Klum, and is the father to Heidi’s oldest child, Leni.
There’s no bad blood between the acquaintances, with the three taking a snap together at the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix, also with Briatore’s ex-wife, Elisabetta Gregoraci.
Vladislav Doronin, 2008-2013
One of Naomi’s only other publicly confirmed, long-term relationships was with Vladislav Doronin.
Doronin is a Russian billionaire and real estate developer. He is the owner of luxury hotel and travel business Aman Resorts.
In 2020 it was revealed Campbell had sued Doronin, with him suing her right back. While Doronin wasn’t Naomi Campbell’s husband, the legal stoush goes to show things can get messy (and expensive) without marriage.
Skepta, 2018
Naomi Campbell and Skepta were linked after a very steamy photoshoot that ran in GQ Magazine in 2018 (in one photo they seem to be naked and Skepta is kissing her jaw while she smiles). In an interview at the time, Naomi revealed the shoot was organised between her and Skepta for his MAINS underwear collection.
“We basically did that shoot on our own, it wasn’t for any publication, and once I saw the pictures I was like ‘no, no, no we should come out.’ And so then I started making some calls.”
She also added that she wanted to make it happen quickly.
“It wasn’t like I was going to wait months for it to come out – it’s either got to come out in the next few or it ain’t coming out at all.”
While the two of them didn’t publicly announce a relationship, it does appear that they are still close. They were even photographed together at a MAINS runway show in 2023.
Does Naomi Campbell Have A Husband?
Back in November 2023, Naomi Campbell caused husband rumours to fly when she was spotted wearing a huge ring on her wedding finger at an F1 racing event. She was also spotted hugging Lewis Hamilton (who has previously denied a romantic relationship with her).
But 2024, Naomi Campbell doesn’t have a husband and it’s unclear who she’s dating. In fact, rumours have been flying about two people she was holidaying with in Greece: DJ Rampa and film producer Mohammed Al Turki.
While The Sun reported that Naomi and Rampa shared a kiss on the dance floor in August 2024 (complete with a blurry photo), Naomi Campbell’s own Instagram shows a series of photos where she looks very close with Al Turki.

So, even though Naomi has had plenty of other rumoured flames along the way – from Usher and P Diddy (Sean Combs) to Liam Payne and Gerard Butler – she remains the star of her life and a true icon.
