Diners were left stunned by chaotic scenes in a Nando's after a fight between customers broke out in a packed restaurant.
Footage taken at the Nando's on Trafford Retail Park in Urmston, Greater Manchester, showed the moment that the brawl broke out as a woman wielding a chair grappled with a fellow customer in front of shocked families.
The fight started just after 6pm on Sunday and witnesses said that plates were also thrown during the dramatic scenes, Manchester Evening News reports.
Police were called to the scene, which happened while the restaurant was full of weekend diners enjoying an early evening meal.
Children could be heard screaming in a video that showed part of the fight and multiple diners made attempts to move out of the way of the brawling couple.
The footage showed a man and woman wrestling over a chair with the woman getting hold of it in the scuffle, before wielding it at him.
Another diner was eventually able to take the chair off the woman.
The couple then continued to argue with each other as staff and other diners got in-between them to stop the fight.
Witnesses say that after the scene on the video, plates were also smashed in the restaurant.
Oliva Malone, from Salford, had been out enjoying a meal with her boyfriend when they witnessed the wild scene unravelling.
The 24-year-old said: "A man and woman started kicking off - they weren't there together I don't think. I captured the video of it happening, but afterwards plates were thrown as well."
On her original social media post about the incident she told friends that police were called out to deal with the incident.
She said: "It was mental." She added: "Staff eventually had to remove both parties and police were called."
