Nancy Guthrie has now been missing for a month after vanishing from her home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona, on 1 February, and investigators have quietly reshuffled resources as the search moves into its most labour-heavy phase. Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin, reporting for NewsNation, said some FBI agents have returned to Phoenix to work through vast amounts of video evidence while a smaller contingent stays on the ground in Tucson.
The news came after authorities treated the disappearance of Guthrie, the 84 year old mother of NBC's Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, as a crime scene rather than a simple missing persons case, citing evidence that she was taken against her will. Family concern escalated when she failed to appear for a scheduled virtual church service, and relatives later found no trace of her at home, with personal belongings and medications still inside.
