A nan was scarred for life after a "horrific" dog attack left her arm pouring with blood.
Marks and Spencer worker Anne Wilkes ran screaming down the street after her neighbour's Rottweiler lunged forward and sunk its teeth into her arm on Cowper Street in Bootle. The dog was being walked on a short leash by owner 49-year-old Jacqueline Langley at 6.15pm on April 21, when Mrs Wilkes walked past in the opposite direction.
A hearing held at Sefton Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 30, heard how the dog suddenly leapt up at Mrs Wilkes, biting down on her forearm. Edward Rattigan, prosecuting, told the court the nan managed to break free and ran sobbing into her son's house with blood pouring from the wound.
