Naked man battered at Glasgow hotel after asking thug to snort cocaine off his genitals

A thug who broke a man's jaw after he was asked to snort drugs off of his genitals has been jailed.

Gary Colquhoun, 27, pounced on naked Luis Xavier at a hotel in Glasgow's west end on February 7, 2021.

Mr Xavier made the request to a shocked Colquhoun after he was invited to his room.

Colquhoun repeatedly punched the victim causing the facial injury which also required stitches.

The attacker later stated to a police officer: "What would you have done?"

Colquhoun pled guilty under provocation at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Xavier to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

He also admitted a later assault on Naveed Malik to his severe injury.

The court heard that Colquhoun attended a neighbouring Clifton Hotel room and told a guest: "The guy is a beast."

Prosecutor Lauren Donnelly said: "He stated that Mr Xavier tried to touch him and asked Colquhoun if he wanted to sniff a line of drugs off his genitals.

"He then began to strip his clothes off."

The witness attended the room to find Mr Xavier naked with a bloody face.

Police attended but Mr Xavier had fled the scene to a stranger's flat nearby where he was allowed entry.

A "disorientated" Mr Xavier was then treated at hospital.

Miss Donnelly said: "He was confirmed to have sustained a broken jaw and would require stitches to his right eyebrow."

Officers spoke to Colquhoun meantime who admitted to inviting Mr Xavier to his room.

Miss Donnelly added: "He said he punched him several times to the face after Mr Xavier made advances towards him.

"He stated to officers 'What would you have done? He was a f***ing beast'."

The court then heard that Colquhoun fractured Mr Malik's eye socket and nose after spending the night with him on April 27, 2021, in the city's Queen's Park.

The victim refused Colquhoun's request to see him again and he was repeatedly punched to the face.

Jim McParland, defending, said: "There is a history of drink and drugs."
