Naga Munchetty presents BBC Breakfast with Charlie Stayt but the presenter was missing from Thursday and Friday's editions of the morning news programme.
The BBC host, along with Charlie, presents Thursdays to Saturdays while Sally Nugent and Jon Kay take over the reigns for the rest of the week.
However, on Thursday, Naga was replaced by her co-star Nina Warhurst while on Friday, Rachel Burden stepped in.
One BBC Breakfast viewer made a cheeky remark towards the missing host while others praised Rachel for stepping in.
"@TVNaga01 another duvet day? Enjoy," one viewer tweeted while another wrote: "Looking good Rachel!"
Rachel announced on Twitter that she would be swapping places with Nina after the business editor hosted BBC Breakfast with Charlie on Thursday.
She tweeted: "That @NinaWarhurst and I are doing a job swap tomorrow. She’s in jimjams behind the mic, and I’m having to brush my hair for the sofa. @BBCBreakfast @bbc5live."
Nina replied to the tweet with a picture of at the BBC Radio studios in a blue checked cardigan.
She captioned the photo: "No PJs Rach, but gone Roy Cropper cardie," with Rachel adding: "Comfortable knitwear is my middle name."
"See you tomorrow Rachel," one viewer replied while another said: "Looking forward to it Rachel."
It's not clear whether Naga will return alongside her usual co-host Charlie on Saturday or whether she will miss this week's BBC Breakfast entirely.
A host of different presenters rotate each Sunday on the sofa.
Naga's absence comes after she was left taken aback by her co-stars cheeky comment about her age.
Speaking about the latest updates in the cricketing world, sports correspondent Jane Dougall said: "78 years experience on the pitch there, I love it. I love that the older players are showing the younger players how it's done."
Naga responded: "Don't ever underestimate experience," as Jane replied: "Exactly there's a coach full of it here, while gesturing to Naga and Charlie.
"Thanks Jane, we're old, thanks," Naga hit back as the hosts smiled.
