Nadine Dorries will reportedly stand in for Piers Morgan to present on his show, Uncensored, next week.
The outspoken Tory MP and former minister will host on Monday and Tuesday while being joined by former Evening Standard editor, Emily Sheffield. It comes after her party prepares for what could be a chaotic Tory leadership contest following the resignation of Liz Truss.
On Wednesday, TalkTV's Kate McCann will stand in as presenter alongside The Sun's political editor, Harry Cole. Meanwhile, columnist Douglas Murray and Ms Sheffield will stand in on Thursday.
Ms Dorries said: "I try to avoid TV these days and I’m not one of the MPs you find running across to the cameras on the green or in and out of TV studios, but I’m excited about TalkTV and the opportunity to do this during what could turn out to be one of the most eventful weeks we have ever known in British politics.”
Richard Wallace, head of TV at TalkTV’s News UK Broadcasting, said: “It’s set to be another explosive week in British politics and this line up of guest hosts will be able to help TalkTV viewers analyse and dissect the issues that really matter as events unfold.”
Ms Dorries has already been expressing her views on who should replace Liz Truss. It appears that she is among a group of Tory sympathisers pushing for the return of Boris Johnson who resigned as Prime Minister last July.
Speaking about her support for Boris as the next PM, she wrote on Twitter: "One person was elected by the British public with a manifesto and a mandate until January '25. If Liz Truss is no longer PM there can be no coronation of previously failed candidates.
"MPs must demand return of @BorisJohnson 0 if not it has to be leadership election or a GE." She continued: "It is inconceivable that we could continue to face the world parading the notion that we are a democract.
"A coronation if the transfer of power out of the hands of the people and into the offices of a few already extremely powerful men in grey suits. It would be an abomination."
