Nadine Dorries has confirmed she will stand down as an MP at the next General Election.
The decision by the ex-culture secretary, who represents Mid Bedfordshire, was announced in a clip of the episode of her TalkTV show, due to air on Friday.
She has recently criticised her own party for removing Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, and has been critical of Rishi Sunak since he took office.
She said: “Those MPs who drank the Kool-Aid and got rid of Boris Johnson are already asking themselves the question: who next?
"And I'm afraid that the lack of cohesion, the infighting and occasionally the sheer stupidity from those who think we could remove a sitting prime minister, who secured a higher percentage of the vote share than Tony Blair did in 1997, just three short years ago...
"That they could do that and the public would let us get away with it. I'm afraid it's this behaviour that I now just have to remove myself from.
"And so, despite it being a job that I've loved for every year that I've done it, I'm now off. Oh gosh, I've just said it out loud, there's no going back now."
Dorries, 65, was one of ex-PM Boris Johnson’s biggest allies and publicly spoke out and defended his questionable record in Downing Street, calling him ‘one of the world’s greatest leaders’ and a ‘political rock star’.
He was the first guest on her new television show.
Watchdog chair Lord Pickles was left fuming after she failed to seek advice from his body before taking the job.
All former ministers are required to ask the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (Acoba) before taking a new job within two years of leaving Government.
Defending the show, Ms Dorries said: "As someone who's never been afraid to speak their mind, I'm delighted to be joining the team at TalkTV for Friday Night with Nadine, where I'll be putting my 23-year political career and experiences at the despatch box to good use.
"Boris Johnson continues to dominate so much of the political narrative since his departure from No 10. Now's the time to find out what he really thinks about a whole range of pressing issues."
In a bitter attack on current PM Rishi Sunak , she said: "With Rishi in No10, we are heading into the long, cold and brutal wasteland of thankless opposition".
