Motorists this morning were in for a nasty surprise after a truck full of hay overturned on a busy Dublin road.
Traffic was brought to a standstill on the N4 near J04 Dodsboro as all lanes were blocked by the overturned vehicle shortly before 6.20am.
Two people were treated for non life-threatening injuries by firefighters and paramedics.
Heavy delays were reported after the N4 was closed in both directions to aid in recovery operations by gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade.
Traffic was diverted through Lucan Village as the incident resulted in knock-on delays.
Footage from the scene shows a number of bales of hay strewn across the road with the truck on its side.
Currently, all lanes have reopened inbound from J5 Leixlip as the cab of the truck has been removed.
However, outbound lanes remain closed as emergency services are working to clear all the hay.
